About Textile Toolbox

Textile Toolbox is TED’s web platform project with MISTRA in Sweden, aimed at creating systemic change within the fashion industry through ‘interconnected design thinking and processes for sustainable textiles and fashion’. This open innovation website is a platform for designers and experts to engage with new ideas.

Textile Toolbox is the home of TED’s ongoing project with MISTRA Future Fashion in Sweden, a consortium which aims to create systemic change within the industry. This website is a platform for participants and audience to engage with new ideas.

This site will be used to help build the discourse around TED’s TEN - a set of sustainable design strategies which will drive innovative action and concepts for the Swedish fashion industry. Over the next seven months the articles and posts will build and will eventually form thebasis of a report that we will publish in 2013.

This website will rely on the contribution of a group of experts from different disciplines, chosen by TED. Together we will consider how to lessen impacts, improve function, and make connections. We will think by challenging aesthetics, process, production and lifecycle issues around products.

Each section on the site will be led by one or more experts, who will contribute with key case studies and interviews with leading industry stakeholders.  The content will focus on inspirational projects and also on the challenges the industry faces in shifting towards systemic industry change.

The final outcomes will be evaluated and published in a report, and we invite everyone to submit their comments, suggestions and ideas to us. Please follow us and send us feedback through Twitter, and get news and updates by signing up to our Mailing List.
